I had to hunt down M51. At Hyde, where we fight the city lights you can't see it in the finder but the triangle of bright stars up and to the left in your photo make a good marker I can see in the finder. Nice to see them in the picture. It does have good stars to the edge of that CCD. Back in film days I used an f/6.4 400mm lens. Same focal length as your scope but only 63.5 mm aperture. Can an Exacta lens be attached to a CCD? I still have it. Cost me $35 used at a camera store in NYC back in the early 60's. Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |
