ASTRO: Comet Holmes - 11 Nov 07 - 2:30 UT
Image made from seven 1-minute exposures thru a VERNONscope Brandon 80mm APO
refractor using a Canon Rebel DLSR. Even with a 40mm Meade wide-field eyepiece the comet just barely fit in the field of view with the 20RC. I have some more data from last night, but I doubt that I'll get anything much better than this. George N |

Very nice picture George. Quite similar to what I got with my EOS300D
through a 6" F/5 Newt. Stefan "George Normandin" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... Image made from seven 1-minute exposures thru a VERNONscope Brandon 80mm APO refractor using a Canon Rebel DLSR. Nice image George, also liked your DSLR full frame. Puts the comet in
context. As I write this now (13th Nov at 22:47) I'm acquiring a series of RGB frames with my ED80. I'll post it if it turns out okay. Regards Dave Cash "George Normandin" wrote in message ... If I get another chance to image the comet with the 80mm Brandon I'm going to try a screw-in 1.25" Barlow that came with it to see if it reduces the field curvature. Of course it will also reduce the field of view. George N |
