This is taken with an STL-1301E thru an OGS 20-inch RC Cass working at
around F/5. The field is still two small to see the outer envelope in this
image. This was a 5:2:2:4 minute LRGB exposure, made while chasing the comet
thru clouds.

VERY nice image, George!
I like the sharpness of your stars... :-)
Mine are not so sharp (yet :-)

George, isn't your image mirrored (mirror-flipped)? I compared it to mine
and found that they are mirror-symetrical.
Greeting,
Gordan

Nice George - got Holmes in the binos tonight (b/w cloud banks shed by
Noel) and the scope is back on the pier after Noel's miss. Hope Noel
does not mess up your weekend!! - cheers - Rod

Gordan,

The stars look sharp because the camera under-samples at F/5. The pixels
are too big. It is intended to be used at the longer F/8 prime focus.

Probably it is a mirror image. My mind doesn't work so well any more after
an all-night observing session! The "mirror effect" is a result of "fuzzy
processing"!

Rod,

Noel has arrived!

I got stuck with giving the program at Kopernik Observatory last night
and after we got rid of our 50+ attendees (around 10:30 pm) the clouds
started to roll in from the south east. A quick look at weather.com and we
knew the night was done for. ( It is nice to have a high-speed net
connection in the dome - even if it does show that a tropical storm is on
the way. )
