ASTRO: Scopes: a 14yo girl made it!
First place Junior "mechanical" and "optical". The judges said that the
mirror was so good that the maker should have entered it into the adult contest where it could have won too! Picture shows scope and its 14 year old maker Samantha Ann Tabor of Randolph, VT. The scope is a 4.25-inch F/3.88 Dob. George N |

I had no idea how to parabolize a mirror so made a 6" f/12 monster bigger than me. Still have the mirror but the rest is history I'm afraid. She's better at woodworking than I ever was too. What are all the knobs for? Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |

Ok, I cleaned my glasses and see they hold the spider and mirror cell.
I was seeing a three vane spider and it is a 4 vane one. She looks younger than 14 to me. Rick What are all the knobs for? Rick |

Really wanted to knock the planets out of the sky, right Rick? I knew a guy with a 10-inch F/10, which he got rid of after he fell off the ladder one night and dislocated his shoulder. George N |

Never fell off the ladder so still have it packed away in the basement. Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
