I took several pictures of M64 over the years, but all were of low quality,
so I was sure that I could improve upon them.

Taken from the middle of Berlin with an 8" SCT at f/6.5, G11 mount, SXV-H9
camera, 28x5 minutes.

I dug out your old shots, two of them anyway, and this is much better.
The earlier shot showed no detail in the dust band and you lamented that
comparing it to another shot someone else posted. I had it in the
archive as well. Your later shot had detail in the band but not as much
as that other shot. This one has more detail than that shot you liked
so well at the time.

Good seeing does help.

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

Great image Stefan!

There is a little mottling seen visually in the dust area with a large
scope.
