There is also a bit of uncertainty about the asteroid path. Also, the precise position of Sirius is unknown, paradoxically because the star is too bright.

Anyone close to the predicted path should try to record the event, or at least view it. Actual timing is preferable, but even an untimed viewing will help.

This is already out of date. The refined path is now from around Cuba
down through Panama and Patagonia.

This is already out of date. The refined path is now from around Cuba

Some revised info is at the end of the original article. Anyone with clear skies on Monday in that part of the world should keep watch; you never know.
