That's just about the stupidest thing I've ever heard of a diplomat doing. Rather than wearign a noose, he should have been wearing a shotgun and a bandolier, with a message of "If you want to execute me, I'll **** you up." -- "The only thing that galls me about someone burning the American flag is how unoriginal it is. I mean if you're going to pull the Freedom-of-speech card, don't be a hack, come up with something interesting. Fashion Old Glory into a wisecracking puppet and blister the system with a scathing ventriloquism act, or better yet, drape the flag over your head and desecrate it with a large caliber bullet hole." For more belly laughs, consider: If Joseph Wilson can be claimed a liar because he claimed his wife had nothing to do with his being sent to Africa when in fact she suggested he be sent, then Rand Simberg can be claimed a liar for claiming that the entry in "Who's Who in America" for Joseph Wilson lists his wife as working for the CIA, when he knows no such thing. Or more fairly, perhaps Joseph Wilson and Rand Simberg are guilty of nothing more than relying on bad memory or memory colored by other considerations. Yes, the other consideration in this case an attempt to make the president out to be a liar. In any event, there was no crime committed here, and all of this howling for Rove's head is hilarious. |

Not even Novak claims that the "Who's Who" entry stated she worked for the CIA. If it had, I'm confident he would have crowed about it - but his precise words re the entry were "Her name, Valerie Plame, was no secret either, appearing in Wilson's "Who's Who in America" entry." All right, I was mistaken about the last point. But the point remains that the name of his wife was no secret, except to morons like Eric Chomko. People should be asking why Judith Miller remains in jail. It can't be to protect Karl Rove, because he's already been outed by Newsweek, and he's signed a release, so she could get out of jail by simply revealing him as a source now, with no fear of being accused of burning a source. So who is she protecting? My guess is that she's protecting Judith Miller, and the fiction that Rove committed a crime.. |

One John Dean-type in W's admininstration could turn the whole thing into another Watergate. It is clear that the politics of this whole thing is NOT in the best interest of American and her people just a select few rich industrialists of whom Bush represents. Eric |
