One Hot Jupiter
This is an amazing story about how a gas giant exoplanet larger than Jupiter
is cooked by it's sun. http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewpr.html?pid=19084 Burning away at some 800 deg C you have to wonder how that impacts the planet. The storms that rage on that planet must be astounding. The convection systems are unimaginable. Also the fact that earth is affected by a gamma ray burst 50,000 LYS away boggles the mind http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewpr.html?pid=19066 |
