Default Calculate Transmission delay for the path using a satellite link

I am having a scenario as under.
I need to calcluate approx. minimum round trip for comunication where
path used is a satellite link. consider the transmission in both
direction is via geostationary satellite & travelling at spped of
light(300,000Km/sec). to consider the transmission delay to transmit
the data.

There are on-line calculators of satellite az/el/range parameters; a good
one I use is:
http://www.satcom.co.uk/article.asp?article=1

Once you have the range you can calculate delay to the precision required by
using an appropriate value of c.

However you can be lazy and use a more intricate calculator like;
http://www.satellite-calculations.co...e/Downlink.htm

which also calculates link delay. Note though that I'm not sure if it takes
into account the satellite ephemeris and any diurnal variations. Depending
on your application these may not be significant.

If however you want to calculate satellite range from first principles you'd
want to check out a text, such as "Satellite Communications" by Roddy
(Prentice-Hall). The spherical trig required is delved into in more than
adequate depth.

Cheers.

Ken
