The left wheel looks like the two hour dig has worn away the tracks:


I think the variable amounts of dirt caked in the tracks is creating
that illusion. The left wheel is showing some bare, shadowed metal
track grids, while the right wheel is thoroughly caked and thus hiding
the same grids.
