Saada: a database generator for FITS files
Saada 1.0 is available at http://amwdb.u-strasbg.fr/saada
Saada is a tool allowing astronomers to put FITS data online with a very low development cost. Saada creates automatically databases with high-level functionalities. The database creation process is achieved by an automatic analysis of input data files and by applying rules given by the operator. There is no code to write. Databases created by Saada can host heterogeneous data (source lists, images, ....) with various formats. Data are arranged following scientific considerations stated by the operator. They can be linked each other with persistent relationships modelling scientific results. A powerful query language allows to achieve very fine data selections. The graphical user interface permits both complex query edition and data or meta-data browsing. A native interface with the Aladin client, developed by the CDS, gives to these databases an interoperability capacity with a lot of remote data centers. Saada is developed at the Observatoire Astronomique of Strasbourg by H. Nguyen Ngoc. This PhD work is funded by the CNES and by the Region Alsace. It is supervised by L. Michel and by C. Motch Contact: Mailing list: http://amwdb.u-strasbg.fr/saada/registration.html -- ---- Laurent MICHEL Tel (33 0) 3 90 24 24 37 Observatoire de Strasbourg Fax (33 0) 3 90 24 24 32 11 Rue de l'Universite Mail 67000 Strasbourg (France) Web http://astro.u-strasbg.fr/~michel --- |
