A Piece of the Pelican
I imaged a piece of the Pelican with my E160 f/3.3 astrograph and
MX716 camera. The nebula subtends 60 x 50 arc minutes and my FOV was only 42 x 31 arc minutes. I deftly steered the scope so as to exclude a pair of really bright stars – magnitudes 4.8 and 5.1. Bright stars always give me trouble by becoming really bloated. LRGB image with 120 minutes total, in 5-minute unguided segments. AP1200 GTO unguided, True Technology Micro Filter holder and filters.
