Must have been a 'programming error' I reckon.

And typically, the big solid core kept right on going...

Here's hoping the GSLV Mk III will be more reliable.

The next time Mr. Random needs his troublesome computer repaired and
seeks advice from the telephone on how to do that, let me assure you
that there is a very good chance that the advice he receives shall prove
futile in that regard, and indeed only come after many, many, minutes of
listening to some of our fine music from Bollywood movies, for he is a
most impolite person.

Another view of the launch and break-up he

That's the launcher that uses a solid-fueled core stage with four
liquid-fueled strap-ons, a fairly odd way of doing things by western
standards.

Newest info is that the commands from the guidance system telling the
four strap-ons how to gimbal their engines for steering were not
received by them:

Let's recall the problems we had when we were building rockets for the
first time

Let's also marvel at the success of Space-X efforts to date.

Fairly odd is an understatement. Any word on what caused the failure?

In other words, complete loss of control during first stage burn leading
to loss of vehicle and payload. Not good.
