Maybe NASA contracts shouldn't be to large defense industry corporations
that have a majority of their income from the DOD?

The DOD waste mentality has bled on over to NASA even though you appear to
be blind to it based upon your bias.

Are you sad today that the shuttle is a success thus far?

Mercury and Gemini? Surely, you generalize yet again?

And unmanned spaceflight, do you honestly believe that Voyager, Viking and
the current Martian rovers weren't/aren't about the mission?
