Rand Simberg: Clearing The Road To Mars Kickstarter Campaign

I break with my own policy to make an exception in this case.

Rand Simberg, once a frequent poster here in sci.space.policy, has started a Kickstarter campaign to fund a report to be entitled:

"Clearing the Roadblock to Mars"

The idea behind the report is to point out, giving the current funding levels of SLS, what could actually be accomplished if that money were to be spent on the actual goal rather than wasting it on a "rocket to nowhere" (my quote not Rand's).

A previous attempt of his at a Kickstarter Report ended up becoming the very enjoyable and interesting book: "Safe Is Not An Option: Overcoming The Futile Obsession With Getting Everyone Back Alive That is Kill Out Expansion Into Space."

I support Rand's newest endeavor and hope you do too.

For those of you unfamiliar with Kickstarter, its policy is to bill you only after the $$$ goal has been reached. The end date for this campaign is June 16th, 2015. The $$$ goal is $12,000. Pledges can be in any amount from $5 to $1000.

As an aside, by pledging any money you also are trusting the Kickstarter founder that the money will be used as advertised once the project has gone over goal. With a previous 217 page book out, I feel that Rand has an established track record.
