Progress departs ... again
So they've sent the cargo vessel away for good this time ... after a
successful 2nd docking attempt. What did they decide caused the problem with the new docking guidance system, and how did they fix it? /dps -- Who, me? And what lacuna? |

Progress departs ... again
Jeff Findley scribbled something on Wednesday the 8/1/2012:
In article mn.fd0d7dc76b249272.127094@snitoo, says... So they've sent the cargo vessel away for good this time ... after a successful 2nd docking attempt. What did they decide caused the problem with the new docking guidance system, and how did they fix it? /dps NASA Spaceflight.com had a good article on this. The believe it was a thermal problem. The system worked after all of the heaters on the Progress were turned ON. After the successful second docking with ISS, they removed the new "electronics box" that was giving them trouble. It will be returned to earth for troubleshooting. Thanks, Jeff, /dps -- Who, me? And what lacuna? |
