disaster case history till the possible end. Get with the program
Officer Brad predicts the Earth poles may be shifting due to major
planetary solar alignment. Cactus saul still can't believe anything is

If there is a core meltdown, which means the fuel rods melt and the
contained radioactive fuel leaks out (the fuel is stored as film
canister sized metallic cylinders) there will be an unmoderated
runaway reaction and the whole mass can reach temperatures exceeding
5000°C. At that level, it will burn it's way through every material,
and yes - once it reaches a significant water reservoir, the whole
thing will go boom. At temperatures that high, water will split up in
hydrogen and oxygen, which in turn forms oxyhydrogen which is highly
explosive.
