Default March Equinox 2016

The celestial sphere enthusiasts are completely unapologetic in their descriptions of the upcoming astronomical event and despite appearances, their homocentric perspectives are only a recent phenomena -

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=52248

The description of the Sun moving across the Earth's Equator at the Equinox is easily the most grotesque ideology ever conjured up by minds unmatched by even the Middle Eastern thugs intent on vandalizing an astronomical heritage

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140319.html

How a civilization came to this catastrophic state is quite a story in historical and technical terms but as it is current and very much promoted as fact, the entire story will have to wait for more disciplined people with both common sense and intelligence.

I can't tell if Gerald is angry at the Sun, the Earth or at Nasa for showing us pictures of them doing naughty orbital things which Gerald doesn't agree with.

Like I said, being unapologetic in this matter is a lack of intelligence and common sense .

For a person to sit down at keyboard and type out a celestial sphere description of the seasons using a tilting circle of illumination would normally being unbearable for people of intelligence, that it made it into the NASA vehicle of APOD makes it much more so -

"One of the most frequently misunderstood concepts in science is the reason for Earth's seasons.....On March 20 and September 20, the terminator is a straight north-south line, and the Sun is said to sit directly above the equator. On December 21, the Sun resides directly over the Tropic of Capricorn when viewed from the ground, and sunlight spreads over more of the Southern Hemisphere. On June 21, the Sun sits above the Tropic of Cancer, spreading more sunlight in the north and turning the tables on the south." NASA

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=52248

It is like watching people run amok in an art gallery with a knife or the Middle Eastern thugs blow up a part of ancient heritage because there is nobody around to stop them. This is as real as it gets and that it is done in the heart of Western civilization by NASA of all organizations is dismaying in the extreme.

So you're not mad at the Earth, the Sun or the photographs showing what happens at the equinox and solstice.

You are angry with someone at NASA for explaining what we are looking at?

Madness only belongs to the tilting circle of illumination and the celestial sphere explanations behind it and that some individual went out of his way to misuse imaging and has the circle of illumination pivot off the Earth's Equator along with presenting it through a NASA website is certainly a low point among.

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140319.html

It is so bad and so repulsive to the eyes and mind that not only will the usual suspects in this forum will touch it and even you omitted it in your response.

You are doing everyone a favor by keeping this intellectual holocaust front and center .

Nobody tilted anything - NASA just took photographs and put them on the web..

If you had any spatial reasoning ability, you would be able to see that these photos are exactly what you expect to see, except that these photos present North at the top, like a map, and you would keep the ecliptic horizontal and spin the axis of the Earth around at its 23.5 degree angle.

Too insane by far.

At least the usual visitors to the forum wouldn't touch something as repulsive as that to their credit so at least you know where you stand.

When people come to their senses they will eventually enjoy how the Earth's two day/night cycles are split apart by rotational cause so I leave you supporting a tilting circle of illumination as a mark of insanity.

Those just photos of the Earth with North at the top, like a map.

Nothing insane about it.

The North at the top indeed !.

I have better things to do with my time than descend to intellectual depths which make the ISIS thugs look like gentlemen, after all, a person using the NASA website went out of their way to promote celestial sphere descriptions of the Solstices and Equinoxes -

"On March 20 and September 20, the terminator is a straight north-south line, and the Sun is said to sit directly above the equator. On December 21, the Sun resides directly over the Tropic of Capricorn when viewed from the ground, and sunlight spreads over more of the Southern Hemisphere. http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=52248

A " straight North-South line" on the Equinox !, nobody would believe such an ideology was possible from a human brain but it is promoted as fact and the dual surface rotations to the central Sun is not.

No offence but encountering a person unable to judge when something as grotesque as this is used to explain the seasons only marks that person out as truly insane. That is not an insult but a fact that I would prefer not to repeat.

I still have no idea what you are angry or disgusted about.

That is simply what the Earth looks like on that date from that position in space. You are looking at actual photos of it.

What is insane about that?
