"As a distinguished theoretical physicist and as an accomplished
writer, Alan Lightman has successfully bridged the gap between science
and the humanities, helping his lay audience to understand the often
foreign culture of science. In his talk on "Einstein and Relativity,"
he will provide an understanding of one of the greatest triumphs of
the human imagination."

http://www.perimeterinstitute.ca/pdf...09145525ca.pdf
Albert Einstein: "I consider it entirely possible that physics cannot
be based upon the field concept, that is on continuous structures.
Then nothing will remain of my whole castle in the air, including the
theory of gravitation, but also nothing of the rest of contemporary
physics."

Default THE GREATEST TRIUMPH OF THE HUMAN IMAGINATION

Einstein's miracles deduced or not deduced from his false light
postulate definitively killed physics but one should not forget that
physics had already been half-dead. An earlier greatest triumph of the
human imagination - the so-called second law of thermodynamics - has
had such an impact on physicists' minds that in 1980 the historian of
science and mathematician Truesdell went as far as to conclude:
"Physicists are not exempt from the madness of crowds":

http://philsci-archive.pitt.edu/archive/00000313/
"The Second Law made its appearance in physics around 1850, but a half
century later it was already surrounded by so much confusion that the
British Association for the Advancement of Science decided to appoint
a special committee with the task of providing clarity about the
meaning of this law. However, its final report (Bryan 1891) did not
settle the issue. Half a century later, the physicist/philosopher
Bridgman still complained that there are almost as many formulations
of the second law as there have been discussions of it (Bridgman 1941,
p. 116). And even today, the Second Law remains so obscure that it
continues to attract new efforts at clarification. A recent example is
the work of Lieb and Yngvason (1999)......The historian of science and
mathematician Truesdell made a detailed study of the historical
development of thermodynamics in the period 1822-1854. He
characterises the theory, even in its present state, as 'a dismal
swamp of obscurity' (1980, p. 6) and 'a prime example to show that
physicists are not exempt from the madness of crowds' (ibid. p.
8).......Clausius' verbal statement of the second law makes no
sense.... All that remains is a Mosaic prohibition ; a century of
philosophers and journalists have acclaimed this commandment ; a
century of mathematicians have shuddered and averted their eyes from
the unclean.....Seven times in the past thirty years have I tried to
follow the argument Clausius offers....and seven times has it blanked
and gravelled me.... I cannot explain what I cannot understand."

Glorywood of Einstein and your hate for the obscure science within,
the mystic of science, and as Hawkings said: that mankind is arriving
to understanding of black holes, still not a clue. Many felt weird
that
Einstein was labeled the man of the 20th century. He is just not for
that. Don't mix glorywood and science, Europeans feel offended.

And that goes for the general idea of Nobel Prize. Some things just
don't
mix. The American dream received 99 percent of that as well, and the
rest have to take American spying, now Bush is committed to set up
a system to listen to all phone calls in the world, as he has done in
the
USA for two decades.

If you buy an East European radio, unused radio waves in the USA,
you can listen to all the cell phone calls people make. Don't you feel
bad listening to other people's phone calls? Americans think it is
necessary. I don't like Americans. I refused the American nationality.

In days of slavery the situation was the same. An uptight government
believed, but not thought of thinks a bit more humaine. Uptight rules
and an imperialist constitution, God save the Queen and the
constituion.
Oh boy, get to work, big brother does not like to see dirt.

Americans have learned nothing from 9/11. The great PPPC takes
all dictatorial steps.

You said 'oh God this is complicated', then you are more like a
Republican Capitalist mountaneer than a scientist, where
namecalling is sufficient science, you ******* American.
Don't worry, the younger generation separated from the older
partisan freaks now do very well in math scores internationally
unlike in the 70's, in Bush's school days, now Americans score
one of the best in the world. If it's too complicated for you, don't
think
of Global brain locks and enemies. That Communist Capitalist
merde, Capitalist rules that are of the best, but that's ok. You are
who your parents are more than your school education, patron
big brother tarnish PPPC.

Are you tarnishing once again, your eyes glamour the distance
of a once great nation, tarnish big brother comes to see the
World instead of you. In days of all those great days, a heaven
sat and people got along regardless of politics, CCCP was out
there and people counted on Americans. You know I am not
American. The greater deeds of a big brother society took it's
course of greater challanges, tarnishing for big brother was free,
people knew it was not ok to speak against it.

But glamour fades in the world's eyes as racism didn't compromise
but chose to rule and take dictatorial steps wearing a naked coat
for something more racist in mind he told.

Don't mix prose memoirs and big brother, always cold and obsolete,
it is called black and white. Isn't that weird? Horror. It's not even
interesting, the feeling is mutual. You can't dictate me.
Dictatorship,
racist dictatorial steps are not cool. Constitutionalism ran slavery
in the past, imperialisms. An awakening to oops. The rest of the
world agrees with Democracy and the constitution stands honorably
but not as law. Not true. Iraq still cannot be erected as a model
country
for all Arabs. End tarnishing. It is a racist crime of the big brother
and
the KKK, one that the Taliban practiced on it's streets.

Crimes against humanity for supremacy, the gestapo wearing
down humanity in the White House with megalomania, accepting
radical extremism as a norm? They are criminals. Racism is
a crime. Crime. Humanitarian crime. One is worse than the other,
and that's not a war to fight. To be better than the Arabs does not
apply either. To be a big brother makes all hate the United States.
Radical extremism is not politics, it is a dictatorship. There are
humanitarian norms. 80-90 percent of Arabs think negatively of
Americans according to a study made by a Jewish political institute
in Israel. In the past the report said people got along regardless of
the politics. But Bush is the politics. Nobody can do that. Only
Stallone
in Hollywood. Bush spoke the exact words of a cowboy in Star Wars.
Bring em on. The same crap spoken almost three decades ago
on Star Wars is now spoken on TV. He is on a mission and he
is a cowboy fighting Darth Vader. His office has that kind of
characters
and that kind of technologies and that kind of enemies. He is fighting
the dark side, and taking out the separatists and Darth Vader's
great political conspirators. He himself takes seat and crosses
out killed enemy combattants. Positioning himself as the good guy,
he flies himself to enemy lands and gives out instructions. The
dangers
are grave for the Jedis, whose numbers are few but the course must
go on. To be American is as hard a challenge to understand in
times like this, one relies on the inner instincts.

The situation is described as chaos. Bush did say this is the war of
good and evil, but as that he is challenging the world. It's about
local
heroism there in the White House, the thrill of winning a battle of
good and evil and save the force. Yes Star Wars is the secret of this
war, it must be played and not pretended. The war is hard, and there
are great casualties. It's not about the world and the people, it's
about
these rascals running their own undertaking. Inventions, alien
technologies, hiding creatures under the sand, one must always
excercize
caution and rely on the force and instincts aquired from secret and
ancient
traditions, super-powers. The super-power fights, it is gifted, it
takes
the challenge and faces grave dangers. Bush did announce this is
the war of good and evil after he declared war on 9/12/2002 against
Saddam, I mean Darth Vader's first man.

What the world sees: Two men in an American car factory once picked
up baseball bats and beat the first oriental man in sight to death
when
they lost jobs to Japanese car makers. The man they killed was a
Chinese immigrant. Even though these two men acted out of rage
and committed a hate crime of racism, they were let free in court
as the judge felt sympathy for them.

Bush picked up baseball bats and went after Saddam on the anniversary
of 9/11 out of rage for what Osama did, a passionate crime of racism
driven by sentiment of violence.

No, Bush hasn't won anything, terrorists arise from small independent
groups anywhere in the world, be it Americans like Timothy McVeigh.
Would it have made sense to take over the USA after Timothy McVeigh
and imply a new model, totalitarianly listen in to all phone calls,
watch everybody? It's bull****. A criminal bull**** hidden by oil
interests.

Star Wars is just not a way to carry a political atmosphere.

--

The first in sight, public enemies, big brother, listening to all
phone calls,
100 percent republican leaders vote for war today, Arabs turned away
in racism. Tarnishing is ever deeper in Texas, police abuse is
blooming
in radical extremism. All phone calls listened to, Bush demands, all
are potential Timothy McVeighs, it can't be that low to say he
attacked
with the whole American world. Terrorists arise from small groups, the
UK left Iraq, they even implemented a warrant only terrorist
surveillance
and not big brother. Big brother tarnish that PPPC, tarnish that Arab
and
the world. You are the president, you are the political atmosphere,
you
are politics, you yourself crossed out pictures of killed terrorists
in your
office and paid thugs and assassins, bounty hunters to kill terrorists
on
your list while the entire world's leadership met in Athens to
celebrate
the joining of the first East European countries into EU that changed
the World. The world of thugs and assassins, baseball bats dictate
sentimental decisions. Crimes against humanity.

When it does not see racism, only a matter of an enemy, you know
the old saying: safety cannot compromize racism else it is a
corruption.
Corruption of power.
