Default Question regarding SS1

Hi,

Would it require a lot more fuel/power to actualy go into earths
orbit,
or would that make SS1 to heavy to be carried by the White Knight?
If it would be possible to go into orbit, would they be able to use
the same re-entery system?

regards daan

Yes.

You'd need to be going about 8-9 times faster.

And then of course besides carry enough fuel, carry enough thermal
protection to re-entry from that speed.

or would that make SS1 to heavy to be carried by the White Knight?

Yes, it would be way to heavy.

If it would be possible to go into orbit, would they be able to use
the same re-entery system?

Most likely not.

regards daan
