Default "The River Model" of Flowing Space Is Being Taught at the Unive...

On May 24, 7:18 pm, wrote, inquiring of
somebody:

Why do you think that the density of the interplanetary plasma
decreases with increased distance from the sun?

It doesn't. The density/pressure of the medium *increases* with
increasing distance from the sun. Why? Because the sun (or any
gravitating mass) is a flow sink, as are the nuclei of all its
constituent atoms. Think venturi or Bernoulli's principle. Have you
ever stopped to consider that the medium is under a state of
pressurization exceeding degeneracy pressure of the atomic nucleus..
and that herein lies unification of gravity and the strong nuclear
force? oc

Oh really? Here is a quote from wikipedia.

"The temperature of the interplanetary medium is approximately 100,000
K, and its density is very low at about 5 particles per cubic
centimeter in the vicinity of the Earth; it decreases with increasing
distance from the sun, in proportion with the inverse square of the
distance."

Yes, really. Wikipedia's talking about density of *matter* in deep
space. This has nothing to do with the pressure/density _of the
spatial medium itself_. Or are you an adherant to the almost-universal
belief that space is a 'void-nothing'?

Rather that space is the matter/medium it is containing.

When you were talkin' about 'interplanetary plasma', i naively assumed
you were referring to the medium of space itself, which you obviously
weren't. Silly me.
73s and 10-7
oc out.

What makes you differentiate anyhow?
