Dearest "Painius",

in order to be "fluent in Amharic", you must have either had a parent
from Ethiopia or you grew up there. This counts you out from
native born English ... speakers :-)

Mr. Charles D. Bohne, sir, i happen to be a native
born English speaker. And i am fluent in Amharic,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amharic_language
quote:
"Amharic (???? amariñña) is a Semitic language spoken in North Central
Ethiopia by the Amhara. It is the second most spoken Semitic language
in the world, after Arabic, and the "official working" language of the
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and thus has official status
and use nationwide."
end quote

i can stumble terribly through a French encounter,

Well, that proves it :

and i know several cuss words in Italian (thanks
to the influence of a beloved uncle).

Having (had?) an Italian uncle is another clue to your foreign
roots, either Italian or Ethiopian... :-)

(I like that).

I've even mastered a little English, thank you very
much! ;-)

You just PROVED my case :-))

happy days and...
starry starry nights

Same to you!

LOL! AA, i've never looked Ethiopian, but i did
once pass myself off as a Somalian *and* got
away with it!

(In the exact same way the explorer, Richard
Burton, did as Moorehead describes in...

_The White Nile_

....one of the best books i have ever read.)

A secret of the Universe,
So please don't breathe a word of this,
Selene, the Moon, will smile perverse
When e'er she sees true lovers kiss--
Breathe not a single word of this.

Indelibly yours,
Paine
