Much of Europe (Britain, Spain, Italy, much of eastern Europe) favored the war. France (always loyal friend, apparently, of dictators everywhere) actively opposed the war, and attempted to prevent it from occuring. Some governments favored the war... with the overwhelming opposition of its populations. In Spain, more than 90% of the population was against the war, and there were huge demonstrations to show it (the biggest ones in history). And by most accounts the population of Iraq favored the war by similar margins. Do you Europeans ever stop to wonder why you so overwhelmingly were opposed to Operation Iraqi Freedom while so many Iraqis were for it? Doesn't that strike you as odd and cause you to reconsider your position? Mike ----- Michael Kent Apple II Forever!! St. Peters, MO |
