He will get my end of year letter, but it will not have that "nice monetary
contribution" for their scientific program (named after Alan Shepard).

....You need to make sure that the bimbo who's obviously responsible
for this is named, and copies of the e-mail and records of any other
correspondence are attached. There's no telling what else she's
fracked up with her ineptitude, and the sooner they fire her retarded
ass, the better off the museum will be.

....Oddly, this sounds like another case of Dvorak's "My Dinner With
IBM", where some bimbo PR [insert that word Mary hates] invited John
Dvorak and a couple other newsrag hacks to dinner to talk about some
new initiative the EyeBeemers were trying to implement to save their
dying PC division - again - and when the check came around she tried
to split the check rather than picking up the tab as was the custom.
Dvorak picked up the tab himself, lambasted the floozie all over his
column in _PC Rag_, and while he never did get reimbursed by IBM for
the meals it *did* get the gal tossed out on her ass. But only *after*
she wrote a rebuttal claiming that she never promised a free dinner in
the first place.

And the punch line? Even if she'd picked up the check, Dvorak would
have crucified her anyway. See, instead of talking about this new
initiative, she used it as a soapbox to bitch about the stupidity of
computer users, and how much IBM didn't care for the attitudes of
journalists...

But Lovell, 78, and Aldrin, 76, both were part of the Apollo
program, which did have lunar landings as its mission. On July 20,
1969, Aldrin became the second man to walk on the surface of the
moon, following Neil Armstrong.

Wasn't Lovell one of the CAP-COM team for A11?

Jim Lovell was back up commander for Apollo 11, so it's very possible
that he acted as Cap Com for parts of the mission. The Cap Com while A
11 was landing (the guy who said "you gotta bunch of guys turning
blue...") was Charlie Duke

According to the online version of "Apollo By The Numbers", James
Lovell was an Apollo 11 CAPCOM:
