Default Skywatcher Explorer 150

Hi...

Santa Claus left a Skywatcher Explorer 150 under the tree for me... well
not strictly true as the two boxes would not fit under the tree... I
digress...

I have never used a telescope before and I have searched the WWW high
and low for instructions on how to use a telescope to no avail. Have any
of you kind souls which subscribe to this NG written a FAQ or know of
one on the web where a newbie to a scope can learn.

There was no information apart from assembly instructions. What are the
pitfalls and cares I should take with a scope... I know to treat it
carefully as it is a precision instrument... that goes without saying...
and It's flippin' heavy!

TIA

Thank you for this information... it was extremely helpful... I had my
first WOW factor last night... it was still a bit cloudy with the
occasional clear spell in SE Sheffield (4 miles W of Jn 30 M1) but we
located Saturn... It was fantastic... My partner Graham, not previously
into Astronomy, was quite impressed so I have blossoming hopes of his
increasing interest. (fingers crossed)
