Default saw my first aurora !

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post a quick note about a nice surprise I had early this
morning. I left Sanford Airport in Florida yesterday afternoon at 17.30
(local time) and began the flioght back home to good old blighty. Just
happened to look north out of the window while we were somewhere over the
Greenland / Iceland area (cant remember as I was tired) and I could see a
beautiful green aurora with the Plough shining through. It must have
stretched over 90 degrees from left to right and was a great first sight for
me, especially as the dawn over the Atlantic was equally beautiful just a
couple of hours later.

Next time I will keep my camera in my hand luggage !

Me too- I saw one coming back from Canada once. Feel like a trip to the
northern tip of Norway now to see if I can get a reply! I just wish they
would leave the lights off in the plane.

I wouldn't have thought to look, but the pilot actually made a point of
saying it was there. Most people didn't seem to know what he was on about
though!
