Default Olive oil on Mars ??

Following is a cut & paste re the Spirit rover on Mars from our local
paper:

"Scientists were surprised to find olive oil, which is usually
associated with volcanic eruptions, said Squyres. Mission members now
believe the soil could be a layer of finely ground lava, he said."

Geeze! maybe the Italians beat us to Mars.
