Lets thank the Chicoms for making us aware of this weakness and then get into remedying it. I think humanity was quite capable of polluting space beyond belief, as we have the Earth, long before the advent of anti-satellite weapons. The weakness is space pollution, throwing away upper stages after sending them all the way to orbit, filling up progresses with trash and throwing them into the atmosphere and the ocean. It's called insanity. This is something that could have been legislated away internationally long ago. We've known about the problem since the early seventies. -- The Tsiolkovsky Group : http://www.lifeform.org My Planetary BLOB : http://cosmic.lifeform.org Get A Free Orbiter Space Flight Simulator : http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/orbit.html |

But it doesn't matter which vehicle hit which, any more than your
body-shop bill is any less when you hit a deer that jumps in front of your car on the road rather than it chasing you down from behind. I can assure you that your body shop bill would be considerably higher in the first instance. |

A New Military Space Age
On Mon, 22 Jan 2007 23:16:25 -0600, in a place far, far away, Daniel
made the phosphor on my monitor glow in such a way as to indicate that: But it doesn't matter which vehicle hit which, any more than your body-shop bill is any less when you hit a deer that jumps in front of your car on the road rather than it chasing you down from behind. I can assure you that your body shop bill would be considerably higher in the first instance. Depends on how fast the deer is running, and how slow you're driving. |
