This supposes that interstellar travel is even possible, which it is
definitely NOT !
Distance = Speed x Time
Distances are far too great and Speeds are far too slow. Even
approaching light speed, which will never happen in any case,
practical travel times would still be far too long.

Broken record in effect!!

The unknown is scary so many people try to pretend it doesnt exist.

Scary? It's very exciting to me.

Sometimes they even claim to understand "reality".
"Reality check", they say. Or "Fact: X".
"If I know underdstand it, then it's impossible" pretty much
sums up the approach.

I understand the impossibility of humans engaging in interstellar
travel. I understand it's impossible. Some things really are
impossible you know. If it's possible then onus is on you to show how,
& not in a flippant way.

"extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"

Carl Sagan

But even scientists now ack they only understand what's going
on in ~3% of even the "material" universe. And there may be
more to "everything" than that.

They can say what they want, they have no idea - it's all a guess.
There are things going in that are beyond human comprehension, meaning
we can't understand them & never will. Just like animals can't
understand calculus. I'm ok with that, but some freak out & can't
accept limitations. Bizarre.

Classical skepticism may be useful to dick around with toy
problems but it's reaching its limits and will soon pass
its used by date.

So unless we all accept that everything is knowable we are to some
extent skeptical? Hilarious.

Such a very important message, with profound implications, can not be stated enough!

It puts an end to any notions, of either humans or aliens, travelling among the stars.

Yet we'll continue to here such nonsense, without the slightest explanation as to how such travel might even be possible.

The incompatibility between General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics
means that there is something deeper in the universe that we don't
understand at the moment.
The fact that the latest theories state that almost all the universe is
made of dark energy and dark matter is also a clue that we need a new
theory to understand reality.
And maybe this new theory will allow interstellar travels.

....

Something that's not just a maybe:

If we know 2 theories conflict and in any case both have some internal
problems (e.g. GR treats space as continuous, QP finds space and other
things as discrete due to boundary conditions; "spacetime" suggests
the universe is a frozen 4-space object where nothing changes; classical
QP treats time as continous whereas we suspect it comes in discrete
chunks also) then it is the sheerest black&white mindset folly to claim
something is "impossible" because it is supposedly not in accord with one
or other said theory.
