back at the time of moon exploration there wasnt supposed to water on the moon, and little if any water on mars. and yet a rivelet has been spotted on mars from photos taken over time....

mars may very well have lots of water, only time will tell

I thought we'd already established that there was lots of water.

at the time of apollo the moon was believed to be a arid place with no
water at all.

the discovery of water is pretty new

The PROOF of water is pretty new. *The idea that there might be some,
well, not so much.

Hell, Heinlein wrote "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" back in the 1960's
and the plot is predicated upon 'fossil water' existing on the Moon in
deep caves and such. *He didn't pull that idea out of his ass, you
know....

fred heinlein was one of the best writers ever but his books werent
based on reality. the presence of water was necessary to the story
line.....

You're quite wrong about that. Many sci-fi authors try very hard to
make their stories consistent with current knowledge. They certainly
extrapolate and speculate about what could happen in the future, but if
they get the current science wrong, then it's not really sci-fi anymore.

What water?

What ice?

Is purely subjective science good enough to take to your bank?

Thus far, not even 1 ppt of water on Mars, unless it's hidden deep
underground or at least covered by a thick layer of fluffy dry ice
crystals that never get warm enough to react with such water ice.

rivelets have been spotted on mars, with photos taken over time, plus
polar regions show signs of water too

And yet no actual forensics via gamma spectrometry has spotted or
otherwise detected one objective drop of water.

Apparently on our moon and Mars, water or that of its ice is using
stealth h2o which gamma spectrometry can not detect.
