Default Solar Panel Array Deploy

Just watched the new solar panel array get partially extended. Sat
there the whole time trying to figure out how that boom they're
extending works. How does that structure get deployed? Are they
completely unfolding one bay at a time, thus pushing them out farther
and farther? Any docs on the mechanism that a mere mortal could
understand?
