Default Buy the SRBs

Someone ought to buy up all the shuttle SRB segments so they can be re-
filled and then sold to Bigelow to launch his habitats. Dont bother
with parachutes or such nonsense, re-using them was always more for PR
than for any savings. With nobody else to buy the propellant, you
ought to be able to get it for a good price too.

You'd have to put a second stage on top of one, and the second stage
ends up being not much smaller than a Delta IV or Atlas V, as we saw
with Ares I.

It was actually for safety, so engineers could examine them
post-launch, spot problems and take corrective actions.

Thee are smaller second stages available. A Bigelow module wouldnt
take too much

Based on what info? Do you know how much a Bigelow module weighs?
What other second stages are "available"? What would be the cost of
the development of this new vehicle? Why not just use an existing
vehicle? It would be cheaper

yeah they were very proactive before challenger

reuse sounded nice, and added safety risks.
