How "solid" are those tripod legs?
January S&T, page 39, "Advanced Thinking" paragraph about new Celestron
telescopes sez: "...and a tripod having solid 2-inch diameter stainless-steel legs." Do they mean "solid" like made out of a 2" thick rod of stainless, not something hollow? Wouldn't they be a bit heavy? That would be one helluva tripod for the money if you didn't need portability. |

WAG: Solid used as an adjective, i.e. of substantial quality or when Linc, from the culturally enormous 60's TV show, would say "Solid." One Black, One White, One Blonde... They were three hipper-than-hip undercover cops with a touch of menace and plenty of attitude. They walked the walk and talked the talk--and an entire generation stepped into line. Fonzie may have played cool, but *nobody* was cooler than The Mod Squad. Not even Mr. Freeze or Dean Martin. Oh, right, if Celestron is actually shipping literally solid 2-inch tripod legs, might be prime time to invest in hernia belt manufacturers. -- -John Steinberg email: lid -= I link therefore I'm spammed =- --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
