ASTRO: M33
M 33 - NGC 598
Triangulum Penryn, California October 2010 FS-128 @ f 6 (ag, ST-4) ST-2000XM LRGB 10 minute subs Described by Burnham as "...a challenging object for the small telescope because of its great size and rather low surface brightness....M33 is the nearest of the Sc spirals.." (Burnham). M33 is at 3 million light years. The large HII region at the lower center left is the largest known in any galaxy and has the designation NGC 604. I've imaged M 33 on at least three seperate occasion and have not been satisfied with the final image, I find it to be a difficult object to process. NGC 604 Triangulum Penryn, California September 2008 M 250 @ f 9.3 (ag, ST-4) ST-10XME LRGB 10 minute subs An emission nebula located in the galaxy M 33. NGC 604 is the most massive nebula known in any galaxy. |

I only tried early in my digital career. I was pretty ignorant back
then on data collection. I'm not at all happy with it. Don't know if I ever will be. Some HII regions came out blue rather than pink. Yours came out well. Glen,
I almost missed this picture as Outlook attached it to an older thread with the same title. Very nice image, and an impressive closeup of NGC 604. Stefan "glen youman" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ...
