Default ASTRO: NGC 7419 From Colorado Springs

The second image shows a young open cluster that is rich in Be stars and
giant stars. There are 31 known Be stars, that are big, hot and rotate just
below the rate at which they would fly apart. The have disks of material
that rotate with them. There are five giant stars, all red giants.

Nice one. Sounds like it might be rather colorful. I'll have to give
it a try if the weather ever clears up! Clouds spitting rain the last 5
days. We need rain bad but this teaser is obscene. All around us is
getting some nice rains but right here, not enough to wet a washrag.

Doug, this is a beautiful cluster. Probably one of the best open clusters I
have seen.

Thanks Stefan...I agree... it has renewed my interest in clusters... at
least those that fit my small FOV. We had a star party last night and I
took my NP101 out with an 18mm Radian... looked a clusters most of the night
and folks liked them because they are easy to see compared to some of the
fainter nebula etc.
