Nora Hamilton to Speak Feb. 27 at Altadena Library On ´To the Sun and
Beyond! Two Weeks at Mt. Wilson Observatoryˇ

What˙s it like to spend two glorious weeks in midsummer living and studying
at 5,700-foot-high Mount Wilson Observatory? Nora Hamilton, one of nine
students from the U.S., Europe, and Asia who attended the 2004 session of
the CUREA in-residence education program at Mount Wilson, will tell us
about it at the Mount Wilson Observatory Association˙s monthly
lecture/meeting February 27 at the Altadena Public Library.

Please join us at 2:30 P.M. for this free talk, or come at 2:00 for a
social half-hour before the lecture with refreshments.

The CUREA (Consortium for Undergraduate Research and Education in
Astronomy) program is held each summer at Mount Wilson Observatory to
enable undergraduate physics and astronomy students to gain hands-on
experience at a working research observatory. Enrollment is still open for
this summer˙s program, which will run from July 3 through July 16, 2005.

(Christmas Tree Lane). Exit the 210 freeway at Lake and go approximately
2˝ miles north to Mariposa Street in Altadena. The lecture is in the
library˙s Community Room.

The Mount Wilson Observatory Association (MWOA) is a public-membership
support group for the Mount Wilson Observatory. MWOA˙s goal is to help the
public better understand Mount Wilson Observatory˙s unique history and
ongoing scientific work. For information about MWOA membership, contact
