Estimates of the original mass of the asteroid belt?

Have any estimates been made of the original mass of the main asteroid belt before Jupiter began
flinging pieces of it into the inner solar system?

This thread came up about a yeat ago, IIRC the total was about
1% of the Earth's mass. If accuracy is needed check the archives,
there was a paper cited.
