BY NOW THE true colors of what little's left of the so-
called "moderate" Democrats is rearing its ugly head on
Capitol Hill, as an ever-more sharply polarizing battle
between Republicans verses Democrats is heating up to a
fever pitch. "ANWR", or Arctic National Wildlife Refuge,
will be open to oil companies to begin limited drilling
later this year--NO thanks to the liberals or "moderates"
who always oppose everything that the President supports.

With final votes tallied the Senate approved the budget
provision by a simple 51-49 majority, thereby thwarting
the threatened Democrat filibuster. Congress has agreed
to the resolution by 228-195, leaving the Democrats out
in the frigid arctic air of their failed obstructionism.

Next on the Republicans' chopping block is the liberals'
flatly unconstitutional filibuster of judicial nominees.
Vice President Dick Cheney is expected to rule that the
filibuster ended with the last session or that it can't
be used against nominations. It will then go to a simple
majority vote. 51 (Republicans, of course) will confirm
the ruling and, subsequently, ALL of President GW Bush's
nominees will be confirmed along strictly-partisan lines.

This is going to infuriate the disenfranchised Democrats
upon realizing that moderate-to-conservative Republicans
mean business and aren't *ABOUT* to back down to threats
coming from the Democrats to "shut down the government".

This is a most advantageous position for the Republicans,
since not only will Bush get his judicial nominations in
effect "rubber stamped" by Congress, but better still it
will draw widespread public ridicule against the liberal
Democrats on account of their obstruction of the federal
government in general. Democrats have branded themselves
as the "no" party, and these impending events will drive
the final nail into the radical left-wing liberal coffin.

You see, the liberals are threatening to cut funding for
every appropriation on the Congressional books. Homeland
Security for example, is already at odds against liberal
Democrats. This in turn would put the Democrats in grave
jeopardy of being arrested under the Patriot Act, aiding
and abetting terrorists by undermining National Security.

Don't think it can't happen. We are a nation at WAR! The
liberals are threatening the very security of the United
States of America, and Republicans aren't going to stand
for it. Watch & see. Democrats are facing the guillotine
if they continue down their path of sedition and treason.

Anyone that looks to politicians for solutions deserve exactly what they
get....imagine, if you woke up tomorrow, and every politician, lawyer, and
religious/tribal "leader" were removed from the face of the earth, what a
wonderful day that would be...there is a lot to be said for anarchy, and it
seems only fair that it gets it's chance to step up to the plate...

No taxes! No water! No sewers! No roads! No schools! No hospitals! No
emergency services at all! No laws!

there is a lot to be said for anarchy, and it
seems only fair that it gets it's chance to step up to the plate...

It's been tried. The problems include: No taxes! No water! No sewers!
No roads! No schools! No hospitals! No emergency services at all! No
laws!

Visited Somalia lately? Afghanistan? Iraq?

While I can agree, in part, with what you say, much of today's "dependence"
on politics and the like has to do with the fact that most folks are living
"too comfortably" and don't want to give up anything. If you go back far
enough into history, man still survived and did adapt quite well without all
the factors you mentioned. Yes, it was a much harder life, but who's to say
that man could adapt once again if forced to today? The key word here is
"forced"- as long as that doesn't occur, folks will continue to believe that
they can't survive without the factors you mentioned above.

Most folks don't live very comfortably at all. You must be referring to
Americans. And what is "too comfortably?" Which luxuries or perceived
necessities should the average American give up?

This is a different question: would mankind be better off if we
abandoned the rule of law, education, technology, modern medicine, et
al, and reverted to living as people did about 6,000 years B.P.? This
is purely a matter of opinion; my opinion is that we would not be
better off.

What planet to you come from? Americans DO live well.
A combination of overuse of credit, welfare and unrealistic subsidies
on everything from food to fuel is what keeps them living
that way. Fiscal reality, TRUE fiscal restraint would
mean abject poverty for most. Welfare is the name of all
Western governments.

Now you're getting the idea, Danny! First you arrest the
opposition...and before you know it, America too will be headed down the
road to democracy!

like it or not, every time you step outside , cross the street, go into town
or to the mall, etc, you break many laws, albeit unintentionally. And since,
ignorance of the law, too numerous to list, is no excuse, the game is rigged
and you are toast. Very soon, bankruptcy will be a thing of the past.
Debtors prison is on the foreseeable horizon, and then, the fun will really
begin.
