Default Astro-Physics 1200GTO Serial Number?

Where in the #!!*&!! do I find the serial # on the mount? That's the
mount, not the CP3 control box.

TIA!

I believe it's on a plate between the RA and declination axis
assembly. I seem to recall seeing it when I had mine apart. Getting to
it does require disassembling the mount.

Might be easier just to dig out your original purchase paperwork.

Ya doesn't get a lotta paperwork with a used mount. The purpose was to
register the mount, as A-P requires one to have an account for
downloading updates. I'll forgo the update and use the workaround for
the bug it fixes; I've got two heavy 'scopes, including a 150mm
refractor that I can no longer handle by myself. I have only one
neighbor capable of helping, and he's not reliable--a macho type who
would probably insist on doing it himself, his way. I've also got an
STL, a guide-camera, and much carefully routed wiring. Not gonna
disassemble all of that.

Reminds me of a Victor hand-crank talking machine I have. *Under* the
escutcheon plate, where no owner would see it, is stamped in the wood
"Not Guaranteed."

David replies:
It was easy to find--with the kind help of a member of the Yahoo ap-gto
group. My thank-you to him said, inter alia:

"This would have been easily found by most people, but I am afflicted
with macular degeneration that, in my instance, manifests itself as
difficulty in distinguishing objects in low-contrast lighting--such as
is found inside my domed observatory. In most situations I can see just
fine, but in low-contrast scenes--a small, light-colored aluminum tag
against white in the case of the SN label--the two blended to blank
grayness."
