Default Perseid Meteor Shower

Well, just on a long shot, I got up about 4am, and again about 5:45am, and
went outside to try to see any stragglers in the Perseid meteor shower.

Of course, visibility was something like being inside half a ping-pong ball.

The only thing really visible was the unblinking red eye of Mars, balefully
glaring down.

I was out last night taking pics. I set the camera up facing north-east,
left it outside the door, go in and watch some Patriots football and
then check the pic. Got absolutely nothing after 3 hours. I finally gave
up and turned around to face south, only to see a dozen bright ones
streak across the southern sky in a matter of minutes.

Then the clouds moved in.

Grrrrrrrrr

At least you got to see Mars. All I got was a wet face. Week of rain
and no end in sight
