since nasa will likely be contracting out to private industry most
launch services, why will nasa need more astronauts?

Because astronauts have nothing to do with 'launch services'.

ahh yes they do.....

Ahh no they do not.....

at least the initial flights of manned dragon will be manned by the
companies astronauts according to Musk....

And that isn't 'launch services', which are done with ROCKETS, not
CAPSULES. *Even if you include the capsule, the 'launch services' one
is UNMANNED. *The manned one is for sending people, not providing
'launch services'.

Its safe to assume that ISS crew will be astronauts or mssion
specialists...

Not 'launch services'.

But the actual flying commnding is moving to private industry

Again, not 'launch services'.

well launch services to me, is a command crew, in their own vehicle
taking cargo, cargo being stuff or people to ISS

Misdefining things merely makes you look (more) ignorant.

your personally knowledgable on being ignorant.......

at least you work hard on being it

I'd be willing to put it to a vote, Bobbert, as to just who regulars
here think is and is not ignorant.

I'm betting you'll 'win'....

Bob, you're wrong on this. Since you don't know the common definition
of "launch services" that qualifies under the dictionary definition of
ignorant.

You can fix ignorant, but you can't fix stupid. Try to fix your
ignorance.

manned launch services never really existed under nasa since they
really ran the show...

musk has said at least the first manned launches will be run by his
astronauts.......

things have changed dramatically

Oh, he's said no such bloody thing! *Those launches will be 'run' by
the same folks running the unmanned ones.

the flight crew astronauts will be musk employees not nasa astronauts

Uh, so? *Sounds just like the NASA model - "My vehicle, my
astronauts."

How's that different, again?

whens the last time private industry launced stuff to ISS

It was a FIRST, and will be a first for manned launches to ISS,
commanded by musk control and musk astronauts

Sorry to interrupt here , but what mr haller said several days ago
on this subject was perfectly clear from the start
It just means that NASA might in the future completely rely
on spacex or another company for their trips to the ISS,with their astronauts
being just the passengers

On the other hand Fred, continually replying to Bob and expecting a
different result does start to fall under the definition of insanity.

Irrelevant, actually. *But you keep wriggling and trying to move the
goalposts.

It was a FIRST, and will be a first for manned launches to ISS,
commanded by musk control and musk astronauts

Now substitute 'NASA' for 'MUSK' and tell us how it's different,
again. *Note that the Russians will also sell you tickets to ISS if
you have the money to buy them. *After all, that's how NASA is getting
THEIR astronauts up these days.

NASA is a government agency.

Russia soyuz is a government agency

Musk is a private for profit company.

obvious this entire discussion with you is a waste of time.
