But none of this is the fault of the decision of the United States to resist
the Soviet Union by having a nuclear deterrent. All of it was a consequence of
the Soviet Union gaining possession of nuclear weapons, and seeking world
domination.

What can't be changed has to be responded to as best one can.

Communist domination of the world would have been a nightmare of the same
nature as Nazi domination of the world.

You can't possibly destroy the entire Northern Hemisphere.

Rather than filtering the subject of this thread, the best approach

What the hell is wrong with you people?

There's nothing wrong with me, but a few days ago peterson wrote:

I will probably start a new thread with his asinine statement as the subject.

There's also been quite a bit of leftist BS about gun control (Basically, make laws against guns so that criminals won't break existing laws.)

You seem to be a logical, realistic, conservative sort of dude. Please feel free to stick around and enjoy the festivities.

"Snellfish Me" is a lost cause. He places no value on any opinion which does not exactly match his own rigid, master plan for humanity's demise. He will only regurgitate your comment to further embarrass himself with his inane and insane dogma. He is the archetypal, powerless, despotic wannabe. A python has far more empathy for his prey. Nobody with such fixed views on everything so contrary to human survival should be allowed power over anything.. Least of all an innocent dog, or god forbid, another human being. His views are completely beyond any rational politics. Because they have been tried repeatedly, by his despot heroes, and found severely wanting by that despot's countless victims. Those who claim to know it all, with such absolute conviction, are those least worthy of trust. Where there is no flexibility of thought there is only room for grey, crumbling concrete and rusting, iron bars.

Your opinion that a greedy majority should have the power to take from a productive minority should carry no weight among civilized people.

Burglars here think that your stuff is their stuff and don't take kindly to being ordered about.

You don't need guns.

We'll decide that, not you. Mind your own business.

OK, I meant handguns. Hitler banned handguns, and actually

More to the point, the Nazis took guns away from their opposition and from others whom they did not like.

Possession of an illegal handgun means a 5 year sentence. There are very few
legal handguns.

I think you will probably find that most burglars justify their actions by
saying it's insured so you won't be too bothered. This is not my
opinion. It's the result of restorative justice where criminals have to meet
their victims and are often shocked by the trauma caused by their actions.

You don't need guns.

A sign that you are wrong. Free your mind from NRA propaganda.

Don't I have the right of free speech?

Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights provides the right to
freedom of expression and information, subject to certain restrictions that
are "in accordance with law" and "necessary in a democratic society". This
right includes the freedom to hold opinions, and to receive and impart
information and ideas.

“ Article 10 – Freedom of expression
1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall
include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and
ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.
This article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of
broadcasting, television or cinema enterprises.

2. The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and
responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions,
restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a
democratic society, in the interests of national security, territorial
integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for
the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or
rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in
confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the
judiciary.
