Examine this simple distance/time graph.

Photons are emitted at regular intervals (dt) at the bottom
and travel through space with the velocity c+v.cos(yaw).cos(pitch)
to arrive at the top with a separation of dT, where yaw is 0 to 2pi
and pitch is the fixed angle of inclination of the star's orbit.
By inspection it is clear that the rate of photon arrival is
inversely proportional to dT, so luminosity = omicron * dt/dT.

I don't understand your diagram

See star with planet.
http://androcles01.pwp.blueyonder.co...barycentre.gif
The IMAGE of the star is called "Spot".
The image is not the star.
See Spot run.
http://androcles01.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Orbit/long.gif
Another image comes along later. See Spot2 run.
http://androcles01.pwp.blueyonder.co...t/slowfast.gif
See Spot2 catch up with Spot.

The image of the star (called Spot) races through space, and if the distance
to the observer is great enough the image from the slow side of the star's
orbit about the barycentre is caught up by the fast image (Spot 2) from the
other side.
The star has millions of images.

This is called a distance/time graph:

This is called a distance/time graph for Spot:
http://androcles01.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Awilson'sStar.GIF
There are just a few of the millions of images (Spots) shown.
Each Spot has its own line on the distance/time graph.
Each Spot starts at its own time on the distance/time graph.
The Spots are emitted dt apart.
The Spots arrive dT apart.

Light has a constant clock in a medium and out.
