Default North Pole Summary

Only a geometric definition makes any sense.
( The magnetic pole is indistinct and variable. )

The pole is the location on the Earth surface, where the celestial
pole is at the zenith or directly overhead. All stars appear to rotate
about the celestial pole. The axis of the Earth's rotation, passes
through the North Pole and on out to the celestial pole.

The star Polaris is close to the celestial pole, and is currently
about 3/4 degree from the celestial pole, or about 1.5 times the
apparent width, of either the Sun or the Moon away from the celestial
pole, and is slowly closing the gap.

It might be nice to have a marker for the North Pole, but I suspect
that this would fall on top of sea ice and be subject to movement and
error.
