aliens food needs

Hi all

At school me and my friend tom are having a arquement about if all living
things need water or not.

My views
1. just because animals on earth need water to live doesn't mean other
aliens can live with out it.
2. the aliens planet may have another resource which is different to water,
which they can live on

Toms views
1. if all animals on earth need water, all other creatures must do
2. all planets come from the same thng, waste and left overs from stars,
meaning that water is the only natural energy resource.

What ever you think, please reply, as no one nos wot the truth is about it.
