Default GAB NOMINATION: The Angular_Diameter_Distance is 46 giga light-years.

Hi Frank_K_Sheldon, The Angular_Diameter_Distance
is the length ( through flat, euclidian, spacetime ) to the birth of the CMB.
It's used to convert the angular sizes ( i.e. the portion of the sky )
of anisotropies in the CMB to actual lengths.
This then is used to determine the size of the Sound_Horizon,
and, therefore, the age of the universe at that time
( from when the now-visible universe first rose above Planck length ).

The Angular_Diameter_Distance is 46 giga light-years, see:

Angular size distance ( Gpc ) d_A 14.0
[ 1 Gpc = 3.262 Gly ]
...
The first acoustic peak in the CMB power spectrum represents
a known acoustic size ( r_s = 147 +- 2 Mpc) at a known redshift
( z_dec = 1089 +- 1 ). From these, WMAP measures
the age of the universe ( t_0 = 13.7 +- .2 Gyr )
to an accuracy of about 1 % by determining
the CMB light travel time over the distance determined by
the decoupling surface ( d_A = 14.0 + .2 - .3 Gpc ) and
the geometry of the universe ( i.e., flat ).

Given dark energy has negative pressure, e = m * c^2,
Omega_Total always equals 1, Omega_Lambda always equals .74,
( the first law of thermodynamics means net mass-energy is a constant ),
and w always equals -1 we get:

Pressure_Cosmos always equals: - ( .74 / .26 ) * Density_Matter * c^2
( the positive pressure of radiation is insignificant ).

So when the " audible " universe was at Planck density
it had Bad_Ass negative pressure; hence the rapid cooling called inflation.
And it's fair to say that the observable universe is 13.7 billion years
old,
during which time it has cooled from Planck_Temperature
( 10 ^ 32 degrees Kelvin ) to 2.7 Kelvin today.
As the mega years go by, the earth is continually exposed to
ever newer surfaces of the CMB event, like a growing sherical area
being melted/drained out of a huge chunk of opaque ice,
with us in the middle of it, looking at the opaque walls,
...now some 46 Giga Light Years away, due to the accumulated expansion.

Well I think this one is ripe -- I nominate J_e_f_f___R_e_l_f for the
Goofy Azzed Babboon, July 2006.

Any seconds?
