Default "Apollo EECOM: Journey Of A Lifetime"

Hi Folks, I'm new to this Forum and in browsing around, enjoying your comments and interest in our (U.S.) space program, I came across this post in reference to my autobiography:

Which rule of thumb?
Somone - I think it was Henry - mentioned what seems to me a reasonably
reliable rule-of-thumb, which only breaks down at the extremes...

I need to put the record straight about the authorship of my autobiography, "Apollo EECOM: Journey Of A Lifetime." I strongly object to the surmise: "...the harder the publisher tries to pretend that the co-author doesn't exist, the less the ostensible primary author had to do with the book."
I am the author of the 70,000 words in my book--David Harland was hired to be my "Contributing Editor," as his contract reads and is stated on the cover back fly leaf. I agreed to have his name appear along with mine, albeit in smaller letters, in recognition of his independent standing as a prolific space historian/author. He is NOT the co-author of my book and acknowledges that fact. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding and I apologize if I have spoken too strongly.

I believe Harald Kucharek has had the opportunity to read my book as part of a determination to publish it in Germany (in German, of course). I have a agent in Germany pursuing this goal.

Agreed... now if we can just keep from scaring him off!

Welcome to the zoo, Sy!

Wow! Glad to hear from you... it's not every day that I interact with
someone who's been portrayed on film by Clint Howard... :-)

That URL doesn't work, but

http://www.cgpublishing.com/Books/Eecom.html

works just fine...

....Oh, don't worry. Sy's one of my heroes from the Glory Days, and the
first troll who tries anything will feel the Wrath of OM. After all,
I've got my rep as HORS Sgt-At-Arms to maintain, right?

Welcome to the zoo, Sy!

....Agreed. Your presence will be more than welcome, Sy! Especially
since we won't have to talk about you behind your back :-)

[thinks]

....Ok, I'll give him the Blank Paper test, just to indoctrinate him
into our group:

....Sy, look at the blank lines above. What do you see?

(Pat, don't help him on this one. No cheating!)

....Speaking of straight shooting, I saw this post, so whatever kept
that other one off my newsserver appears to have deuncorrected itself.
Again, thanks for the praise, although I probably should run what I
posted about Carpenter's grounding past Sy to see what he thinks, just
for gits and shiggles :-)

....Well, hell, Sy. If you're looking for regional proofers, since
you've *got* to publish your autobio in Texas eventually, I'll
volunteer to proof it :-) :-)

Hi Sy,

as it is not clear from your quote, just let me state that Andrew Gray
made a remark about the small letters and a rule-of-thumb and then I
asked what this rule was. I already knew from David Harland how far his
involvement in Sy's book was. And when one has read a few books by Dave,
one knows that he didn't wrote Sy's book - completely different style.

I believe Harald Kucharek has had the opportunity to read my book as
part of a determination to publish it in Germany (in German, of
course). I have a agent in Germany pursuing this goal.

Sorry for being offline on that subject for such a long time. I'll send
you a private email on this, soon.

....Hey, if you *hadn't" showed up with some sort of controversy, we'd
have pegged you for a phony :-) :-) :-) Either way, we'd better fill
you in on some important rules around here. I'll start off with the
first and most important one, and let the other regulars fill in the
rest.

ssh Rule #1: We are all Jim Oberg.
