You're using Thunderbird as your news client.

Go to the Tools menu and look at "Message Filters."

Good. My first filter will be for Androcles. :-)

Better set it for Andrex as well. Andrex is a popular toilet paper in
the UK. Constantly self-promoted. Hence my pet name for the foul-
mouthed, enfant terrible.

It would involve using a moderated newsgroup, which SAA is not.

A kill list has nothing to do with whether a group is moderated or not.
Kill lists are client side tools found in every newsreader.

No kidding! Really?

Spammers are something we have to live with to enjoy freedom of
speech.

The freedom of choice allows any of us to ignore spammers.

While the poster could have put the subject in a more tasteful way, he
did raise a good point about vendors attempting to gouge customers.

No, that is fortunate. If anybody could remove the garbage, they could
also remove the good stuff.

Third party (forged) cancels are routinely done against all the most
annoying Usenet spammers and hipcrime flooding. It isn't beyond the wit
of man to forge a cancel message, but it isn't all that worthwhile.

Most reputable news servers honour third party cancels of obvious types
of brandname and disruptive spam.

Sadly Google groups faithfully records all the spam it injects into the
system rendering it almost useless even when looking for archive
material that you can remember posting. Their search is broken too.

Just put Rich in your kill list, and you won't have to read the inanity.

Unless someone quotes him to complain about his obscene obsessions and
bad language. He is pure kill file material with nothing good to say.

Regards,
Martin Brown
