Dragon on internal power at T-8.

Nominal through 50 kilometers ... approaching MECO1.

Very nice having the video of the 2nd stage burn.

Saw this shot on a newspaper front page at a news stand.

AP's Craig Rubadoux picked a great place to watch the launch.

JF Mezei scribbled something on Friday the 25th:
Watching NASA TV: Grappling of Dragon is expected to happen at 07:59
EDT. (11:59 GMT)

Not sure when berthig will happen. Appears the hatch will be opened on
saturday.

SpaceflightNow has some of that information, too.

quote
An approach initiation burn is scheduled for 4:11 a.m. EDT (0811 GMT),
when Dragon is at a point 1.4 kilometers, or 4,600 feet, below the
space station. Arrival at a position 250 meters, or 820 feet, below the
complex is expected at about 5:21 a.m. EDT (0921 GMT).

(Shuttles usually waited until the next day to open the hatch, also.
Gives time to check for leaks in the berthing couplings.)

BTW, does anyone know what communicatiosn facilities are available to
Dragon ? Are assets such as TDRS available to it ? Or does SpaceX rely
on its own ground stations for command and control ?

During the launch, I'm pretty sure I heard a call that the rocket was
acquiring TDRS.

How much functionlity is available on that CUCU UHF interface between
station and Dragon ? I know the control pad is simplistic with just a
few buttons, but is that a true data path that could pentilally have
bidirectional data transfers ? Or is it a simplified "analogue" type fo
interface with very specific and limited command set available ?

I haven't seen that; I've had trouble knowing what the buttons are for.

In article m,

Try looking for this yourself. NASA Spaceflight.com has articles on
this.

Yep plenty of articles, but have yet to see a precise time when final
apprpach to ISS for grappling will happen. Best I saw was "may 25th in
morning".

My guess is because the exact time will depend on other events, like how
quickly NASA approves, or disapproves, of Dragon's performance of its
prior tests in orbit. So far, the news reports that the tests have gone
well, so we'll see.

You could also try NASA websites or even SpaceX's website. Why
do we have to dig up the info for you?

Why not just say "sorry I don't know" if you don't know it ? I didn't
ask you to dig it up. Just figured someone would know by heart and this
would help those, like me, who have been unable to find the info on the
nasa and spacex websites.

In other words, you're asking for "inside information". Sorry, but
people have been *fired* in the past for doing just that in these
sci.space newsgroups. In fact, I believe that the postings in question
(for one individual) had to do with schedules of shuttle processing!

I doubt anyone else will make that same mistake again. So no, you're
not going to get anything more than the press already knows out of a
public Usenet newsgroup.
