As for global warming, Al Gore makes money off the concept. We had an exceptionally cold winter here(South Western Ontario, Canada).
If global warming actually exists, perhaps it's just a cyclical warming up of the planet.

An average rate of 16.93 trillion watts of primary energy. This includes 28.4 billion barrels of crude oil, 6.3 billion tonnes of coal, 2.1 billion tonnes of natural gas, producing 62.6 billion tonnes of CO2 each year, to produce 81.1% of this total.

ENERGY FROM COLD FUSION

Deuterium and Lithium-6 when combined to produce two Helium-4 nuclei release 269.7 TJ per kg of the stuff. 3/4 of the total weight is Lithium-6

Humanity currently uses 23 billion tonnes of primary non-fuel materials per year. This is 3.22 tonnes per person and supports $3,614 per tonne of primary material.

REAL LIMITS TO GROWTH - SATURATION OF DEMAND

If we look at how primary materials are used today, we find that someone worth a billion dollars does not consume 1000 times more raw material than someone worth a million dollars. Also, someone earning nothing consumes more material than zero each year.

In fact when you look at the materials used by humanity consumption of food, water, air, clothing, housing, transport, falls within a very narrow range, below which death occurs, above which saturation occurs.

THE REAL CAUSE OF SCARCITY

SO, the number of people, not their wealth, determine the rate of material use. We find that materials are restricted, not because there is any real scarcity, but rather, scarcity is artificially maintained so that those who exercise control through that scarcity can maintain control going forward.

A MORE RATIONAL APPROACH

An upper limit of non fuel primary material is provided by rocks initially, and waste is reused 100% by breaking them down to the atomic scale.

Eight tonnes per person per year provides millionaire scale of living on average, and with 7.12 billion people this totals 57 billion tonnes per year of primary materials. That is, a little more than twice the non-fuel raw materials we use today provides millionaire status to all.

Reducing each tonne of waste material (or rock, or ore) to the atomic scale, requires 40 GJ of energy. So, 57 billion tonnes being processed each year requires 2.28e21 Joules.

This is far larger than the 5.4e20 Joules of energy we release today, however it is a small fraction of the 1.5e23 Joules of energy we could release today if we wished to make use of the Lithium ores we already mine.

Imagine what the nearby births of those Sirius stars did to our solar system, not to mention when Sirius(b) terminated into a white dwarf.

The nebula Bok globule cloud which created those two or three Sirius stars could have been worth 2.5e37 kg and not even terribly far from us.
